IOC 2023 to be held in Mumbai for the first time in India

Ambani, the representative of the Indian participant on the committee, said it was "a significant step for India's Olympic aspirations."

"Sport was always an integral source of hope and inspiration to millions of people around the world," she added. "We are among the smallest nations that exist today, and I'm looking forward to the young people of India to experience in person the joy in the Olympics.

We hope to build on this partnership and organize an Olympic Games in India in the years to come."

"The Olympic movement is back to India after a 40-year wait! I am truly grateful to the IOC for entrusting India with the honor of hosting the IOC Session in Mumbai in 2023," said Nita Ambani, a member of the IOC.
